How to Prepare Your Teeth for Your Wedding Day

The big day is approaching. The invites are in the post, the dress has been paid for and the tuxedo’s been chosen. You’ve tasted all manner of vol-au-vents and wine, and you’ve bought enough wedding decorations to start your own events company. Every picture-perfect detail of your wedding day has been carefully planned with fine-tuned precision. Or has it?

Your wedding day smile will be immortalised in photos and videos that you’ll savour for the rest of your life. But if you’re less than happy with your teeth, it can cast gloomy shadows of anticipation on an occasion you should really be looking forward to.

Choosing the right hair, makeup, and outfits plays a big part in your wedding preperations, so, why shouldn’t your smile?

At Define Clinic, we’ve helped plenty of brides and grooms prepare their teeth for their weddings. Read on to find out how!

Preparing for Your Big Day

If you’re like most couples, planning your wedding will start several months or even a couple of years before the big day. Between running around trying to find the perfect venue and looking for the dress or suit of your dreams, find the time to make an appointment with us as far ahead of the wedding as possible.

Not only would we love to hear about your exciting plans, but we’d like to know about the issues with your smile you’d like us to address.

Everyone is different, and we’d like to create a bespoke plan that addresses your specific needs. We’ll start the planning process by taking some digital images of your teeth using our state of the art iTero 3D scanner. This amazing tool lets us create a visualisation of what your smile could look like if we carry out certain treatments.

What Type of Problems Can Be Addressed?

We know that most people want straight and radiant teeth. When all eyes are on you during your wedding day, there’s never been a better excuse to address any cosmetic dental problems.

We can help you with issues surrounding the positioning of your teeth, their brightness, along with repairing any chips, cracks, or blemishes.

We can take a three-stage approach, combatting all of your issues as we go.

‘A’ Is for Aligner

The process that takes the longest is straightening your teeth, so we’ll start this as early as we can. Don’t worry, we’re not going to make you wear a cumbersome brace between now and your wedding. Instead, we’ll use the revolutionary Invisalign aligner.

Invisalign is a virtually invisible clear aligner system designed to gently straighten your teeth over the course of several months. Each discrete aligner is precision-made to fit your teeth and move them into the desired position.

Throughout your Invisalign treatment, you’ll need to replace your aligner trays every few weeks. Each new set is slightly different and helps your teeth get that little bit closer to their end goal.

Using this fantastic treatment, we’ll be able to help close gaps, straighten out crooked or overcrowded teeth, and correct issues with your bite.

The great thing about Invisalign is that you can take it out while you’re cleaning your teeth or eating. Aside from this, you’ll need to wear it for as much of the day and night as possible to achieve the best results possible.

‘B’ Is for Brightening

We want your smile to shine on your wedding day. When you look back on your treasured wedding photos, seeing your big natural smile will almost certainly remind you of the great day you had. To help you achieve this dazzling smile, we’ll brighten your smile using a teeth whitening treatment.

We use Enlighten at-home teeth whitening. In all, the process will take a few short weeks, but the results are phenomenal.

Over two weeks, for a few hours every day, you’ll wear a set of custom-made trays on your teeth containing a special whitening gel. Then, at the end of the process, we’ll get you in for an appointment where we’ll perfect your new shine.

Enlighten will brighten your teeth to a B1 shade – which is the lightest natural white possible.

‘C’ Is for Composite

Finally, we’ll carry out some finishing touches to your bright new straight teeth. If there are any small problems such as cracks or blemishes, we’ll address these using composite bonding.

Composite bonding uses a resin that we’ll apply to your teeth. Once in place, we can skilfully sculpt and perfect the appearance of your teeth. After we’ve finished and are satisfied with the appearance of your tooth, we’ll cure the resin using a special light.

Budgeting for the Finer Details

When you’re spending so much time preparing for your perfect day, you shouldn’t overlook the smaller details. We can tailor a dental treatment package to suit you and your partner’s specific dental needs, and help you spread the costs so you can work it into your wedding budget.

We understand wedding planning is a financial juggling act. We offer Wedding Smile Complete Makeovers as well as a ‘Makeover Lite’ option Once we’ve discussed exactly what you’d like to achieve, we’ll be able to provide you with a full price breakdown and discuss a payment plan.
